The Houston community is a rich environment in which to study art and art history. Houston artists and architects seeking a venue for displaying contemporary art and design founded the volunteer- operated Contemporary Arts Association. Its large and diverse range of art collection include, among others, the renowned Museum of Fine Arts and its branches in decorative arts, the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, the Holocaust and Contemporary Arts Museums, and the Houston Art Car Parade. As well as many alternative art spaces and galleries focus on traveling on traveling exhibitions. |
The Hobby center for the Performing Arts is a theater in Houston, Texas, US opened to the public in 2002 the theater is located downtown on the edge of the Houston Theater District Hobby Center features 60-foot-high glass walls with views of Houston’s skyscraper. The center replaced the former Houston Music Hall and Sam Houston Coliseum.

The Houston Art Car Parade is an annual event in Houston, Texas. The first and largest Art Car parade in the world, at any given parade spectators will see cars, bicycles, motorcycles, roller-skaters, and many others. The parade has been a Houston tradition since 1988, when 40 decorated vehicles were featured during the Houston International Festival.
